Hi, I’m Nicole- I paint from my home studio on an acreage near Saskatoon, SK Canada where I live with my husband and two children.
Often drawing from patterns, colours, and movement found in nature, my work explores themes of mindfulness, connection, and finding beauty in the everyday.
I’ve had a passion for drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, and in 2018 (while on maternity leave with my second child) I started making the shift from painting as a hobby to pursuing art professionally. Since the release of my first collection in late 2018, my work has been well-received, with sales extending across Canada and the United States and a body of licensed work available through companies including Minted, Target and West Elm.
Painting helps me to see the world through a lens of gratitude- constantly seeking beauty and appreciating smaller details about the world around me. The way the light may be shining through the trees, a subtle pink along the bottom of the horizon, the movement of a big prairie sky- there is so much beauty in this world woven throughout ordinary moments, and I feel compelled to capture it and share with others through my work.
If someone can look at one of my paintings and feel the same sense of calm & joy that I felt in the moments that inspired it, then I know I have succeeded.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you.
